Sarah Lyon    Artist & Printmaker
Home Paintings Prints Profile

I studied at Bournemouth Institute of Art and Design where I completed a Foundation Course and as part of this course, developed an interest in printmaking. I have attended many courses and workshops back at the Institute to develop my skills in various aspects of printmaking.  I also now have my own etching press at home so I can spend more time on this.

After I obtained my Diploma I spent two years studying painting and completed an NCFE course, also run by Bournemouth Institute.  I now use both techniques in my work and employ a variety of styles especially in my printmaking.  My main interests are collographs and monoprints using as many different ways of working as I can think of and the possibilities are endless!

I also paint and work mostly in acrylic or gouache.

My influences are Turner, John Piper, Carl Jackson, the impressionists and often more abstract work.  I am continually exploring ways of working and a great joy is to visit exhibitions, art galleries and see how other artists are using materials.

Sarah currently has work showing at

The gallery on the Wey, Upwey, Dorset
